President Salva Kiir Mayardit left Juba on Friday morning for Djibouti to attend the inauguration ceremony of Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh.
During the visit, President Kiir and President Guelleh are expected to hold bilateral talks aimed at strengthening relations between South Sudan and Djibouti, with discussions focusing on economic cooperation and regional stability.
South Sudan and Djibouti are said to share a common vision for peace, stability, and economic growth within the Horn of Africa region.
Djibouti’s strategic geographical position as a key gateway for international trade presents significant opportunities for South Sudan, particularly in improving access to seaports, facilitating exports, and enhancing regional integration.
Press Secretary in the Office of President says Kiir’s participation in the inauguration ceremony demonstrates South Sudan’s commitment to strengthening regional partnerships, promoting cooperation, and advancing prosperity across the Horn of Africa.
