The Minister of Labor, Public Service, and Human Resource Development in Western Bahr el Ghazal, Matilda John Dee, revealed that the lack of an approved work plan is significantly hindering the employment of youth in the state.

During a meeting with Governor Emmanuel Primo Ukel, Matilda highlighted that the delay in receiving the work plan from the state legislature has stalled youth employment initiatives.

Matilda explained that the inability to pay the budget required by the legislature—an estimated 900,000 South Sudanese pounds—has resulted in the delay of the business plan approval, affecting the ministry’s ability to create job opportunities.

She urged the state governor to revisit the issue and provide the necessary funds to enable the ministry to receive the business plan certificate, which is essential for employing more people.

The Minister reiterated the ministry’s aim to serve the people through various employment services and requested government support to address these challenges.
