The National Ministry of General Education and Instruction has officially announced that the marking of the 2024 Primary Eight final examinations commenced on Monday, March 3, 2025.
Deputy Minister Martin Tako explained that the delay in the marking process was primarily due to insufficient resources and lack of adequate funding to facilitate the process.
Last month, Simon Nyok, the Director of Examinations, revealed that the Ministry had requested 7 billion SSP to cover the marking costs for both the Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) and the Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) for 2024.
The Ministry of General Education has now confirmed that it has received an initial 2 billion SSP from the Ministry of Finance to begin the marking of the Primary Eight and Senior Four examinations.
However, Nyok emphasized that this amount is only a start-up fund. “The money we have received is not enough; it’s just a sum that will allow us to begin the work,” Nyok stated. The Ministry continues to engage with the Ministry of Finance to secure the remaining 5 billion SSP required to complete the marking process.
The Ministry is hopeful that with continued financial support, the marking process will proceed smoothly, and the results will be available as planned.
