The South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) has officially launched a door-to-door taxpayer registration campaign in Juba City aimed at expanding the country’s tax base and improving compliance monitoring.

The Commissioner General of the SSRA, Hon. Simon Akuei Deng, announced the initiative, which targets businesses, service providers, and self-employed individuals operating across the capital. As part of the exercise, Juba City has been divided into ten zones to streamline the registration process and enhance efficiency.

According to Commissioner Akuei, the zoning strategy is designed to facilitate the creation of a comprehensive and up-to-date taxpayer database. The initiative is also expected to support strategic planning within the SSRA, strengthen service delivery, and improve future tax administration efforts.

“The goal is to identify and register all eligible taxpayers, collect accurate data, and ensure that everyone contributes fairly to national development,” Akuei stated.

The Commissioner General also issued a stern warning against impersonation of SSRA officials or unauthorized collection of fees during the registration process. He urged the public to report any suspicious activity, adding that such cases will be referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.

The SSRA has emphasized that the door-to-door campaign is a key step toward building a more transparent, accountable, and efficient tax system in South Sudan.
