During his sermon at the Feast of Saint Daniel Comboni, His Eminence Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako urged the faithful to commit to doing good deeds for one another as a way of lifting themselves out of poverty, ignorance, and social challenges.
Cardinal Wako highlighted that Saint Daniel Comboni’s founding of the Comboni Society aimed to empower the Sudanese people to educate and uplift themselves through mutual charity and cooperation.
He appealed to all believers to follow in the footsteps of Saint Comboni, striving to do good for each other. “Whenever one deviates from the word of God, they become worthless before Him,” the Cardinal reminded the faithful.
The Cardinal delivered this message during the celebration at St. Daniel Comboni Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Wau, urging Christians to embrace communal good deeds as part of their spiritual journey.
His Eminence Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako, during the Divine Liturgy on Sunday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Wau, called on Christians to wholeheartedly follow Jesus Christ. He emphasized that Christ urged His followers to follow Him without hesitation, fully committing their lives to His teachings.
Cardinal Zubeir asked the congregation, “Are you ready to live your Christian lives according to the will of Christ?” He urged believers to reflect on their relationship with Christ in every moment of their lives.
The Cardinal discouraged the tendency of some believers to avoid attending places of worship, stressing that such habits do not lead to eternal life.
“This is the time to strive for eternal life through our daily actions and works,” Zubeir Wako appealed, calling for Christians to examine their lives closely to see if they are truly walking with Christ.
