President Salva Kiir Mayardit has received a comprehensive briefing from Foreign Affairs Minister Ramadan Mohammed Goc, detailing South Sudan’s involvement in the recently concluded 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The briefing outlined key engagements and outcomes of the country’s delegation at the global event.
Minister Goc highlighted a series of high-level meetings South Sudan’s representatives attended, emphasizing their strategic importance in advancing national interests on the international stage.
These engagements, he noted, provided an opportunity to strengthen South Sudan’s diplomatic ties, promote development partnerships, and discuss global issues such as peace, security, and climate change.
“The delegation participated in significant discussions that placed South Sudan’s priorities at the forefront of international dialogues. Our participation underscored the country’s commitment to fostering cooperation and seeking solutions to challenges affecting both our nation and the global community,” said Minister Goc.
He further briefed the President on the active participation of several relevant ministers who were part of the delegation, each addressing critical issues relevant to their respective sectors, including humanitarian assistance, economic development, and infrastructure. Their contributions aimed to secure international support for ongoing national programs and future development projects.
In response, President Kiir expressed his appreciation for the delegation’s efforts and the role they played in representing South Sudan on such a prominent international platform. He stressed the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic relations and ongoing dialogue with the international community.
