Juba, South Sudan – In a recent handover ceremony held at the police headquarters, Col. John Kassara Koang officially assumed his new role as the national police spokesperson, succeeding Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin Buolo. Maj. Gen. Buolo has been reassigned to serve as the Director of Community Policing, a move aimed at strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and local communities.

During his first briefing as spokesperson, Col. Koang emphasized his commitment to fostering a transparent and cooperative relationship with media houses.

“We recognize the critical role the media plays in informing the public, and I assure you that we will work closely with all media outlets to ensure accurate and timely information dissemination,” Col. Koang stated.

His remarks were met with optimism from attending journalists, who have long called for improved communication between the police force and the media.
