Governor Jadalla Gives Directives To Juba City Council

The Governor of Central Equatoria State Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani has directed the Juba City Council to focused on stepping up efforts in addressing challenges and issues within the City.

The Governor said there is a need for new approaches on the efforts to address the challenges affecting affairs within Juba City Council.

Governor Jadalla wanted to see improvement in the manner the leadership of the City Council is handling issues to do with health, security, garbage collection and drainage among others.

“From today onwards, Gudele road, Munuki road and all the roads, there should be no garbage on the roads. You the Quarter Councils should allocate a place within the Quarters where garbage should be dumped and the vehicles will collect them later,” Governor Jadalla told the Councilors while emphasizing on the importance of keeping Juba clean as the Capital City.

The Governor has also directed the leadership of Juba City Council to tackle and crack down the issue of gangs in the city known as niggas and torontos, emphasizing that the two groups have become an increasing source of insecurity.

He also wanted to see more regulations on food items and drugs especially alcoholic drinks known as jena fa’ar. He also directed the leadership of Juba City Council to ensure that focus is put on addressing challenges people are facing in areas that are being affected by floods in the city.

“Insecurity is not only when there are gunshots but also water (flood) can create insecurity because there are houses that have fallen down due to the rain. Your voices must be heard because your voice represents the citizens,” said Governor Jadalla.

“Take your responsibility as a national duty. We need to organize ourselves by ourselves,” Governor Jadalla said.
